The glass in this window appears garish in colour and was clearly made before Powell & Son had perfected techniques to enable the production of more subtly coloured glass.

The main lights were designed by Samuel Yarrington in 1843 for the central lantern. In 1847 they were rearranged here by Warrington at which time he made shields of the Trinity to fill the tracery lights.

In the upper level of the main lights we see four of the apostles. Namely (from left to right) James the Great, Peter, Paul & James the Less.

In the lower level the Evangelists are depicted, all accompanied by their individual symbols : Matthew(the "Divine Man"), Mark (winged lion), Luke(winged ox) & John ( eagle)
